The Knitware Design program was created by Janet Tombu in 1991. A gifted and
talented mathematician, systems analyst, and computer programmer, Janet is also
an avid knitter. In creating Knitware, she combined her technical expertise and love
of knitting. In early 2006, after 15 years of making Knitware successful, Janet
retired and sold the business to me.

I am
Ada Lai and my company is Great Knit Designs. Like Janet, I am a
mathematician (by education), a systems analyst, and (at various times) a
computer programmer. In addition, I have spent many years working as a customer
support engineer and a technical writer and editor for numerous high-tech firms,
with stints also in technical education, product marketing, and sales. So... I've done
just about everything in the high tech industry.

In addition to running Great Knit Designs, I am also a freelance technical editor for
knit and crochet designers, in addition to teaching classes in hand knitting and
crochet.

I have been a rabid hand knitter (and I do mean "rabid") and crocheter for many
years. I consider myself a novice machine knitter -- I own a Silver Reed LK-150 and
a Bond Ultimate Sweater machine, but never seem to have enough time to gain
proficiency on the two machines. I have been a Knitware user for over seven
years, and I love the product!

Great Knit Designs and Knitware would not be what they are today without the
dedication and loyalty of our customers - so thanks to all of you for loving the
product and spreading "the word"!

Sincerely,

Ada Lai
